Cass County Electric Cooperative Leading the Charge

In late 2019, Cass County Electric Cooperative was awarded funding through the Volkswagen settlement to purchase and install three Level 3 electric vehicle (EV) fast chargers. We are pleased to announce all three chargers are installed and located at:

1. West Acres Shopping Mall (level 3 fast charger) – 3902 13th Ave S, Fargo, ND 58103
2. Hornbacher's Gateway West Grocery store (level 3 fast charger) – 2050 Sheyenne St. West Fargo 58078
3. Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitor's Bureau (level 3 fast charger & level 2 charger) – 2001 44th St S., Fargo, ND 58103

The level 3 chargers are 62.5 kW from ChargePoint, Inc. and will be "pay-to-charge" stations. These chargers will provide fast charging options for EV interstate travelers. In addition to the fast charger at the Fargo-Moorhead Convention and Visitor's Bureau, we installed a level 2 charger.

Cass County Electric views EVs as an opportunity to use homegrown energy from North Dakota.

"More and more vehicle manufacturers are announcing new electric vehicle models, and we see that's where that trend is going, and it's something Cass County Electric wants to support."

Currently, on the Cass County Electric Cooperative system, there are a total of 35 level 2 EV chargers, 24 residential chargers on off-peak, and seven commercial chargers. These will be the first non-Tesla Level 3 DC fast chargers on our system and some of the first in North Dakota.
