Youth Tour

Home_slideshow_YouthTour.jpg

Considering the global pandemic, the 2020 and 2021 Youth Tour is canceled. Please check back in September 2021 for Youth Tour applications for 2022.

full width paragraph

More than 1,500 high school students nationwide participate in the annual Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington, D.C. The Youth Tour consists of a fast-paced, intense week of learning about history and government, visiting with the congressional delegation, becoming more knowledgeable about the cooperative business model, and touring museums, national monuments, and memorials. Considering the global pandemic, our 2020 Youth Tour winners were not able to attend the event, so we are allowing them to participate in the 2021 Youth Tour event. Let’s meet the students representing Cass County Electric Cooperative.

Cass County Electric Cooperative holds an essay contest for local high schools to select two Youth Tour students each year.

  • Call for submissions is sent to area high schools in October.

  • To enter the contest, you must be a sophomore or junior in high school.

  • You and your parents/guardian must be served by Cass County Electric Cooperative.

  • Types of submissions allowed: written essay, video, in-person interview, graphic design project.

  • Submissions are judged by a panel of Cass County Electric Cooperative employees; winners are selected in February.

  • The quality of work is more important than quantity. There are no requirements of project length.
