High School Scholarships

Cass County Electric Cooperative is committed to investing in the future of the communities we serve. Through its high school scholarship program, CCEC supports local students as they pursue higher education, helping develop the next generation of leaders while reinforcing the cooperative commitment to community and opportunity.

In partnership with CoBank’s Sharing Success Grant, CCEC awards 20 scholarships of $1,000 each year to graduating high school seniors whose primary residence is served by CCEC. Scholarships are available to students across CCEC’s entire service territory, including both metro and rural areas.

Prior to 2026, CCEC provided one scholarship per eligible high school in its service area. As the number of schools served by CCEC continued to grow, this model became increasingly difficult to manage, leading to inconsistencies across communities.

Beginning in 2026, scholarships are awarded through a centralized process administered by the North Dakota Dollars for Scholars state chapter. This approach ensures fairness, consistency, and equal opportunity for students across CCEC’s large and diverse service territory. Centralized administration also provides uniform evaluation criteria and a streamlined application experience for students and schools.

Applicants are evaluated on academics, community involvement, activities, and honors. Scholarship recipients are selected by an independent scoring committee chosen through the North Dakota Dollars for Scholars state chapter. CCEC is not involved in the selection of recipients.

Application Period:

January 1 through April 1 each year.

Students must create a profile and apply through the Dollars for Scholars platform to be considered.
