Founded in 1937 and headquartered in Fargo, ND, Cass County Electric Cooperative is a not-for-profit, member-owned electric distribution system serving more than 53,000 services in a 10-county area in southeastern North Dakota. Cass County Electric Cooperative has five service centers in Fargo, Kindred, Valley City, Lisbon, and Arthur, North Dakota.
Cooperatives likes Cass County Electric are not-for-proft business that operate for the benefit of their members. If you pay your electric bill to us each month, YOU are a member. In fact, after a period of time, we give money back to you in the form of capital credits. and guess what—that makes you a member-owner.
As a member of a cooperative, you are more than just a customer. But as an investor, owner, and member of this cooperative, you have a say in what we do. CCEC is governed by a board of directors—they're all members who ran for a position and were elected by other members. As a member, you can vote each year for our directors. You can skip voting altogether and run for a position on the board if you want.
