4-H and FFA members from across North Dakota participated in career development events hosted at Kindred High School by the Kindred FFA Boosters on Feb. 11. Students competed in five events: agricultural sales, agronomy, livestock judging, small animal care, or environmental and natural resources management. A total of 483 members participated in the one-day event.
"This event is an incredible opportunity for 4-H and FFA members to gain experience in valuable career development events before their state competitions in March," says Stephanie Cook, Kindred FFA Boosters president.
This is the 22nd year the Kindred FFA Boosters have hosted this event. The Kindred Boosters are known for the high-quality contest they host each year, and their event is one of the largest local FFA contest hosted in North Dakota.
"It takes countless volunteers to make this event a sucess," Cook says. "We are grateful for the support of our booster club members and others in our community who took time to help with the various aspects of the contest."
"We extend a special thank you to Cass County Electric and Todd Toppen with Toppen Seeds for their financial support of this year's event," she adds.
CCEC sponsored prizes for the high individual of each of the contest divisions and Todd Toppen with Toppen Seeds sponsored additional team and individual awards. All contest areas are outlined below:
