Recipe: Popcorn Balls

Ingredients
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cups marshmallows
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 16 cups unflavored popped popcorn
- M&Ms, candy corn, salted pretzels, or other candy (optional)
Preparation
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter.
- Add marshmallows and stir constantly until melted.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- Add popcorn and fold into the marshmallow mixture. If using candy, mix it in now.
- When the mixture is cool enough to handle, lightly spray your hands with nonstick cooking spray.
- Scoop about 1 cup of the popcorn mixture and press it into a ball.
- Place balls on a sheet of waxed paper to cool.
Grandma used to put these into resealable bags for us to take home when we stopped by trick-or-treating.
