Your voice matters
Participation is at the heart of the cooperative model. One of our cooperative principles, Democratic Member Control, reflects a simple idea: When people participate and make their voices heard, our cooperative and our communities are stronger.
That same idea extends beyond Cass County Electric Cooperative.
Voting is one of the most important ways we can participate in the communities we call home. Decisions made by elected leaders at the local, state and federal levels can shape infrastructure, economic development, public safety, energy policy and many other issues that affect our communities.
While national elections often receive the most attention, local elections matter, too. The people elected to serve our cities, counties, townships, school boards and state government make decisions that can have a direct impact close to home.
Political engagement does not mean we all have to agree. It means taking the time to stay informed, learn about the candidates and issues, ask questions and make an informed decision at the ballot box.
Cass County Electric Cooperative does not tell members who or what to vote for. That decision is yours. We simply encourage you to participate and make your voice heard.
As Election Day approaches, take a few minutes to make your voting plan. Learn what will be on your ballot, know when and where you will vote, and encourage your family, friends and neighbors to participate as well.
Strong communities start with people who are willing to participate.
